Reducing costs and other tips

List all the different aspects of wedding stationary from invitations, to place cards, reply cards, thankyou cards and try and order along with the invitations as this may entitle you to a discount for a bulk order.
Always, always read, read and re-read your wedding stationery proofs. Ask a friend to check it carefully for you. Double check everything, even words you feel confident about, you may be surprised to discover that you have been spelling certain words incorrectly! Check, check and check again as reprint costs can be expensive and of course time consuming, which will be disappointing for you.
Establishing a website for your wedding is an invaluable way to include all the wedding information and details (hotels, date, registry etc.) for your guests to reference.
You’ll need thank you cards for more than just your wedding presents. There are many occasions where gifts are given before and after your wedding day, so be sure to order more thank you cards than invitations. If you order them at the same time as your invitations, you may be eligible for a discount on all your wedding stationery.
Try and include a map, if you can, post it along with the invitation. Especially if the wedding ceremony and the reception are miles apart, it’s useful for the out of town guests to have a map and relevant phone numbers of the venue in case they get lost on the way, they don’t want to ring you on your wedding day and ask you for directions!
If you want to add something personal and unique to your wedding invitation, add a quote to the bottom of your invitation wording. It could sum up all you wished to say, but didn’t know how to say it yourself.
Your wedding invitations set the tone of your event. If you are planning a formal event, you will want to stay clear from invitations that appear too casual. Guests usually take the dress code cue from the formality of the invitation if it is not stated on the wedding stationery.
If you are moving into a new home around your wedding date, be sure to order ‘just moved’ cards to announce to family and friends that you are no longer at your old address. People may still be sending gifts and you want them to arrive at the right doorstep!
